Featured Ceremony Venue – Wormsloe Plantation – Savannah Wedding Coordinator

Bryan & Karyn Fox

We have been your go-to source for all things Savannah, and now also, your go-to source to book Wormsloe for intimate weddings! You will not be able to reserve this location on your own. One of the great perks of hiring us, is access to locations that do not work directly with the general public.

Wormsloe Plantation is a beautiful, quintessentially Savannah location. Beautiful live oak trees, dripping in Spanish Moss cover this destination. It is a photographers dream, with so many opportune spots for dreamy photos! This venue can be reserved through us Tuesdays through Fridays, for ceremonies anytime before the plantation closes at 5:30pm.

Wormsloe Plantation is formally known as Wormsloe Historic Site, and was established by one of Georgia’s original colonial founders in the 1700s. It is situated 11 miles southeast of downtown Savannah on Isle of Hope. The iconic arched entranceway is a beautiful location for wedding photos. The plantation is rich in history, and the property still boasts many of the original details, such as a tabby fort built in 1745, and many of the trees date back to before the settlers came. There is now replica buildings from that time period, as well as colonial life demonstrations, a museum, and walking trails through the dense maritime forests.

If this isn’t the ideal ceremony location for your personal taste, but you are planning a destination wedding and searching for things to do for you and your guests, this is still a beautiful location to check out. Guided tours and group rates are available.

Chippewa Square – Featured Ceremony Venue – Savannah Wedding Planner

IMG_8017Is Forrest Gump one of your favorite films? Do you love Live Oak trees dripping in Spanish Moss? Are you a history or theater buff? Chippewa Square could be your perfect ceremony location!
Chippewa Square is most well-known for the “Life is like a box of chocolates” bus-stop scene from Forrest Gump. It is easy to see why producers chose this location, for the beautiful trees, and quintessential Savannah southern charm.

This square is rich in history as well, from the center statue of General James Ogelthorpe, who founded the colony of Georgia in 1733, to the Battle of Chippewa during the War of 1812, where this square received it’s namesake.

This square was also the center of Savannah’s nightlife, and still is home to the Savannah Theatre, which is the oldest theatre in IMG_8142America still operating at it’s original location. You can catch a live show at the theatre during your trip and take a photo in front of the iconic marquee. You can even get your names in lights on the marquee. Ask us how!

A great reception venue is also located right off of the square, Bryson Hall. Maybe this is the perfect location for you!

Whitefield Square – Featured Ceremony Venue – Savannah Wedding Planner

This week’s featured ceremony venue is Whitefield Square. It is located on Habersham Street between Taylor and Gordon Streets. This is the only square with a gazebo. It was the last of the Savannah Squares to be laid out and was completed in 1851.
There is plenty of space to place rented chairs for your guests, or if you prefer something more intimate, such as an elopement, the gazebo offers a great spot for photos. If there is hot sun or a chance of light rain on your wedding day, the lush trees and gazebo offer shade and shelter.
If you are interested in booking Whitefield Square, or any of the other beautiful squares in the Historic District, for your ceremony, contact us to save money on reserving the square.
